272--ABRAHAM PEFFLEY (son of No. 136) married:
1--Jan. 19th, 1850 in Putnam Co., Ind., MARA ANN CRODIAN, born Dec. 6th, 1825, died May 24th, 1886 buried in Blakesburg Cemetery. (dau. of HENRY C. and MARA CRODIAN). Henry was born Jan. 1st, 1795 died Dec. 22nd, 1874. His wife was born Jan. 16th, 1787, died May 7th, 1874. Both buried at Blakesburg Cemetery.
2--July 24th, 1887 at Ladoga, Ind., AMANDA S. SHAVER, born Sept.
12th, 1855. Abraham went to Putnam Co., in 1830, where his father settled on the banks of
Raccoon Creek in Russell township. Abraham became a prominent farmer. He
inherited the Peffley mechanical trait. After the death of his first wife he moved to
Ladoga where he spent the remainder of his life. His old home in Putnam Co., is
still standing, but the school house nearby has burned down. This was known as
the Cairo school and all of his children received their education there.
The following records of his children are from Abraham's bible, now in
possession of his son Frank Peffley, Russellville, Ind.

1--SARAH JANE PEFFLEY, b. 12-7-1850. m. Daniel Stackhouse 7 March 1892 in Putnam County, Indiana.
2--REBEKAH PEFFLEY, b. 3-9-1852, d. 4-28-1890. (married 15 Feb 1874 Putnam County to Emanuel Warner - born 14 April 1847 Thomasville, NC died 11 Nov 1933 Blakesburg, Putnam Co IN - they had 9 chilidren)
3--HENRY LUCIEN PEFFLEY, b. 8-6-1853. married Emma Alice Cunningham 23 September 1883 (Bk 7 p 189 Putnam County)
4--JOHN FRANKLIN PEFFLEY, b. 2-10-1856 married Emma Wilson (13 Dec 1862 died 19 April 1916) and died 14 Oct 1939. Childre: Grace Olive; Leslie Clyde; Carl Francis; Mabel Lenore; Franklin Kent)
5--DANIEL PEFFLEY, b. 11-29-1857, d. 12-16-1930. married 10 Dec 1882 Susan Catherine Stokes d/o Richard & Sarah Grider Stokes. Children: Richard Jasper; Nora Edith; Roscoe
6--MARA ELLEN PEFFLEY, b. 12-14-1859.

Note: Her tombstone in Blakesburg Cemetery, Putnam County, Indiana says Mary NOT Mara. Also (sorry, I didn't have her at all) see they have #6 Mara Ellen Peffley - would imagine her name is Mary, too
